According to the fiance i am not allowed to buy anything else for my computing/overclocking addiction. I am also apparently supposed to spend money on her… hmm.. what a spoil sport wouldn’t you say? :P~

project name

posted @ 8:17 am on Wednesday, June 27, 2001

need some ideas of a project name for my pc mods.
planned mods that are in the pipeline are:

  • watercooling
  • peltier device *pondering still*
  • case window (though i don’t want to cut open my new Lian-li PC-70 like i did with the HX-08)
  • neon (yes i liked the funky blue glow eminating from the old HX-08 and i’m sure it’ll look 100% better with the lian-li)
  • whatever else takes my fancy at the time

suggestions can be made by emailing me

  • What Does 70,000,000,000 blocks, and a Holy Cow have in common? 64 bit encrypton and $10,000 - myrddin.org RC5 team

    posted @ 2:40 pm on Tuesday, June 19, 2001

I have created a myrddin.org RC5 team to try and crack the RC5-64 encryption competition. Hopefully we will be getting a few members into this team. 50% of the overall RC5 project on distributed.net has been completed, with the encryption still not cracked. This gives us a 50% chance of winning already. I will personally be going over to RC5 cracking on my machines. When RC5 is cracked, i will then go back to processing seti@home work units. Remember: RC5 encryption cracking has some rewards. US$1000 to the winner, US$1000 to the winning team, and the rest of the US$10000 which is being put up by RSA goes to various places distributed.net have already designated. You can find the links to both the myrddin.org seti@home and RC5-64 teams via the menus on the right of this page :-)

    *happy cracking/searching*

I have found some very interesting forum perl scripts for this site. I will be attempting to implement them over the next few days so keep an eye out :-)

    seti@home update

    posted @ 5:27 pm on Tuesday, June 12, 2001

I and a few others have been getting rather anxious about the team’s seti stats seeing as it ‘appears’ that the stats have remained the same since the 5th of June (7 days ago). A quick browse around alt.sci.seti indicated that while setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu has some ‘issues’ they have ported most of the data + cgi links to a server called iosef.ssl.*
Enhancing on that fact, the myrddin.org seti@home team stats can now be found here.
I have updated the links on the right to reflect this.

sitting here @ home at the ass end of a long weekend, on irc doing generally.. *nothing*, I came across a quote that had me amused for 5 or so minutes (i was easily amused you see) so i have decided to share :P

(23:26) (ElfRanger) its like Myr … Myr isnt real, hes an AI created by a really freaky netsplit

What can i say to that? Its pretty much true :P

    seti@home problems

    posted @ 12:25 am on Saturday, June 9, 2001

It appears that there are extended delays with the seti@home servers due to some hardware problems. They have been unable to run most cgi’s on the page for the past few days. You can view old data, but thats about where it ends. So in the meantime the team statistics will be static until seti@home resolve their issues. Those of you processing units please don’t wory about your time consuming work units not being counted because they are, just the stats page isn’t being updated at the moment. Also in the case of where you want to join the myrddin.org seti@home team, you are unable to do so due to the abovementioned reasons so please try again in a few more days.

Added a few extra links and kinda organised the layout on the right side of this page. Added good ‘ol d28’s homepage link, in a hope he would stop spamming it in #Australia on the Austnet irc network :P Be sure to check out his ‘Chatting Online’ section as its pretty amusing reading some quotes that myself and others have said over the past few years and someone has found whilst reading logs.. tho if you are doing that, you are leading a really deprived life *points @ d28*
