At last! I have Xfree86 4.1.0 running on my debian box! *jOygasms*

Took me a while cause i had problems mostly caused by dodgy fonts and a microsoft usb intellieye mouse issue. Which gives me good enough reason to create a new howto document on it. Hmm.. maybe when I’ve finished with my ‘apt-get install addiction’ over my tired and exhausted modem I’ll get to work and write it.

Be sure to check out that screenshots link cause there’s bound to be lots of new shots uploaded within the next few weeks :)

My watercooling kit arrived yesterday from auspcmarket.com.au so now I am running an ultra silenced, ultra cool (literally) machine :) Pics can be found here.. I’ll add some ‘finished’ pics as well as some info about how I put it together and how well its performing very soon :)

Ok, so now i’m back to being a Microsoft Wh0re… :(

It still seems that even with a tweaked XFree86 config + latest nvidia modules, the Linux based UnrealTournament installation gets a measly ~60 frames per second (OpenGL), whereas with the same revision of nvidia drivers on the Win2k platform gets ~250-300 frames per second (D3D)… dodgy stuff I would have to say..

Due to the fact that my HDD was being a bitch to partition for a dual boot approach I ended up reinstalling Win2k… grrr…

On top of this sorry note, there is the fact that I scored some more bad sectors on my 45Gb IBM 60GXP drive.. how suprising… so when I get a new drive , I can therefore be able to dual boot win2k linux without having to worry about that pathetic 1024 cylinder boot problem

So, as dodgy would say: “Bah!”
