interesting…

I was playing the new Tactical Ops beta 2.10 last night, and for the very first time since I installed the watercooling kit, I heard the digital-doc start whinging and beeping cause the temp was over the set limit on one of the probes…

Getting kinda distressed thinking the watercooling pump may have stopped for some reason I checked out the probe temps, and the CPU probe was registering 41 degrees, which was hotter than normal, but was not abnormal considering the ambient room temperature.

I checked the probe temp that was in an alarm state, and realised it was the probe wedged between the GeForce2 Ultra’s DDR memory chips and their heatsinks… 53 degrees they were sitting on… rather interesting indeed.

So you know things are impressive when the video card is running over 10 degrees hotter than the CPU under load. Now I just have to look into cooling the video card and other components to a respectable temperature.

I still think this is rather impressive seeing as how the only fans functioning at the time were the PSU fan, and the 80mm fan on the radiator. The CPU wasn’t getting hot enough to trigger the front 2 sunons to power on via the digidoc, and I also haven’t as yet assigned any fans to the probe that sits on the video card… very impressive I must say… The watercooling setup is working rather well :-)
