Pearl Jam

I saw Pearl Jam last night at the Sydney Entertainment Centre and it absolutely rocked! They played bloody well and we got a wonderful set. Only disapointment was the support act, they were pretty crappy, so much that I can’t even remember the name of them.. heh
Overrall I was very impressed with the show, it was a complete sellout and everyone got right into it, including us right up in the back row *mental note not to let Joe order tickets next time for that reason*.

unstable

I’ve taken the plunge and upgraded my Debian workstation which was running testing/sarge to unstable/sid. The reason behind this is that I wanted to use Gnome 2.2 and the packages for gnome 2.2 were available in the unstable debian tree.

I also get the most up to date versions of most of my apps too which is pretty kewl. Finally gone to evolution 1.2.1 which was another reason why I wanted to move to sid. At the moment everything appears to be working fine (aside from a dodgy font problem and the usual alsa + kernel 2.4.20 sound issue).

I took a screenshot using gnome 2.2 of which you will find in the usual screenshots section. This is only after using gnome 2.2 and sid in general for a mere few hours. One thing that is annoying me is the fact that the gnome panels seem to want to span both displays, when previously in Gnome 1.4 I could get them to only span across one monitor. I’m sure though after spending some time playing I will be able to figure this out, assuming it is even possible.

waiting

I did my RHCE exam last tuesday.. and am still waiting for my results…

’twas a rather tricky exam, with a layout of a 2.5hour debug exam, 1 hour multiple choice exam and a 2.5 hour install/configuration/securing exam.

You pretty much know the results to the first 2 parts of the exam, but it appears you have to wait for Redhat to mark your third exam (the install/config/security exam) hence the 5 business day delay in your exam results. I should get my results tomorrow or tuesday.

*crosses fingers*
