unstable

I’ve taken the plunge and upgraded my Debian workstation which was running testing/sarge to unstable/sid. The reason behind this is that I wanted to use Gnome 2.2 and the packages for gnome 2.2 were available in the unstable debian tree.

I also get the most up to date versions of most of my apps too which is pretty kewl. Finally gone to evolution 1.2.1 which was another reason why I wanted to move to sid. At the moment everything appears to be working fine (aside from a dodgy font problem and the usual alsa + kernel 2.4.20 sound issue).

I took a screenshot using gnome 2.2 of which you will find in the usual screenshots section. This is only after using gnome 2.2 and sid in general for a mere few hours. One thing that is annoying me is the fact that the gnome panels seem to want to span both displays, when previously in Gnome 1.4 I could get them to only span across one monitor. I’m sure though after spending some time playing I will be able to figure this out, assuming it is even possible.
