marine aquarium & other bits

Today I got another Cobalt Blue Cichlid for the 4 foot cichlid tank, he is only a rather small fry and the other fish look massive in proportion. One of my original 3 cichlids was a female Cobalt Blue and she is HUGE in comparison to the new baby. I think we are pretty much complete in this tank now as far as population is concered. Next step would be to introduce some more rocks etc.

I also purchased lots of ‘live rock’ for the marine tank that I have been slowly setting up. I have had salt water stabilizing for the past 6 weeks and have finally introduced 10kg of the live rock today. Also got some test kits for the tank. It will take about a month for the live rock to cycle in the tank before introducing some marine fish, but I can start getting some coral and trace elements in as little as a week which is cool.

I am thinking of getting off my arse and setting up some project pages on the cichlid and marine tanks as they progress. It is only one of hundreds of things in my “todo” list. One day…
